Looks like folks will have to update to FileMaker Pro/Advanced 12.0 v5 to be compatible with Mac OS X “Mavericks” (12.0 v4 is NOT compatible). Of greater concern is that FileMaker Server 12 and FMSA 12 are not currently compatible with Mavericks at all, and the update isn’t expected until “later this year”. Joe at 360Works says they’ve done some internal testing, and reports that “it seems to hose the WPE pretty well”. Ugh!
Here’s FileMaker’s document on all of that: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11930
FMI is also saying that FileMaker 11 products may or may not be compatible with Mavericks, and no updates are planned. Basically if you upgrade to Mavericks and you still want to run FM 11, you’re on your own. Here’s that doc: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12643

Hi Stephen, The incompatibility is with FileMaker Server, not client. So with v5 on the client you’re fine. If you’ve upgraded the machine running FileMaker Server to Mavericks… that’s where the problem is. It’s officially unsupported by FileMaker and we know the web publishing component has trouble in Mavericks so it’s use-at-your-own-risk. At least until FMI releases a patch for Server. Hope that helps a bit.
Thanks! Do you know if Apple is shipping the current server with Mavericks… I have a customer that just took delivery on a Mac Mini server and I believe installed Mavericks which sounds like it would be problematic for ….
Thank
I’d imagine they are including Mavericks with new servers, depending upon when your client ordered it.
Thanks for the response…. I was at the Apple store yesterday and the units in Stock for server are running on 10.8 I advised them not to update until we hear from FileMaker…. Again thanks for the response!
Should we downgrade from Mavericks? If we purchased Calendar Pro recently and upgraded FileMaker to V5 whats our prognosis?
